Catalog description

Prerequisite: Admission to the Applied Science in Nursing Program. The focus of this 15-week course is to develop basic knowledge and skills of nursing care of adults.  This foundation of nursing course will assist students in the integration of theory and practice as they begin to learn about nursing and the transition into the role of the professional nurse.  This course introduces the application of the core organizing concepts within the QSEN framework. Topics include nursing process, nurse-client relationships, communication, psychomotor skills, nursing judgment, and professional values within a legal/ethical framework.   A concept-based curriculum with selected nursing concepts will be followed.
