Prerequisite: Permission of the department. Pre/Corequisite: FIN 602 . This course uses tools and analytical techniques learned in prior courses to examine financial problems from the financial manager’s point of view. The primary objectives of this course are to (1) sharpen understanding of financial concepts related to the time value of money including risk and reward, (2) view financial problems from the point of view of management and practice using the tools available for financial decision making, and (3) increase knowledge and fluidity of analytical techniques and vocabulary commonly used in making financial decisions. Students will also gain a deeper understanding of how firms make capital structure and budgeting decisions.
