Catalog description

Prerequisite: EXER 300 . Pre/Corequisite: EXER 302 . This advanced course focuses on pathophysiology, disease progression, and physiological responses to exercise across diverse populations and lifespan stages. Students develop skills in interpreting diagnostic techniques, understanding medical and surgical treatments, and applying evidence-based exercise assessment and programming to many different patients. The course also introduces epidemiology, risk factors, and lifestyle interventions for chronic disease, while highlighting the professional role of exercise professional and essential safety considerations for clinical populations.
