Prerequisites: ENGL 112 or any [ENGL 200-, or ENGL 300 - or, ENGL 400 -] level course or equivalent, Junior or greater standing, or permission of the instructor. Study of differences in pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar among U.S. language varieties. Origins, regional and social dimensions are explored.
