Prerequisites: Completion of ENGL 111 and ENGL 112 or their equivalents, 64 credits or permission of the instructor. An analysis of the use of sex and love in the literature of the Western World from Greco- Roman times to 1800, with special emphasis on how sexuality and 'romantic' love are used as allegorical, satiric, fantastic or realistic devices.
