Prerequisite: EDCI 544 . The Hebrew Language Therapy II is a rigorous course for Hebrew reading specialists. The course is based on evidence-based methods for teaching students with dyslexia how to read Hebrew with an initial focus on prayer and academic text. The course includes topics such as vocabulary and comprehension and evidence-based methods for teaching Kriah. Participants will study the relationship between word knowledge and comprehension, focusing on the complexity of the Hebrew language. Course topics include morphology, receptive and expressive language, semantics, and the mental lexicon. Effective vocabulary instructional methods for students with learning difficulties and at-risk readers will be demonstrated and practiced throughout the course.
