Catalog description

Prerequisites: [ ECON 200 and ECON 201 ] or ECON 244 and admission to the graduate program in Economics. Introduction to the economics and technology behind cryptocurrency and digital assets with an emphasis on Bitcoin. By integrating knowledge from economics, cryptography, computer science, and finance, students gain a practical understanding of monetary theory, cryptography, blockchains, proof of work protocol, and smart contracts.
