Prerequisites: [ ECON 200 and ECON 201 ] or ECON 244 . Introduction to the economics and technology behind cryptocurrency and digital assets with an emphasis on Bitcoin. By integrating knowledge from economics, cryptography, computer science, and finance, students gain a practical understanding of monetary theory, cryptography, blockchains, proof of work protocol, and smart contracts.
