Catalog description

Prerequisite: College Reading ( DEVP 60 ) or placement. Continued practice of comprehension strategies with emphasis on textbook reading, and implementation of effective study strategies such as note-taking, test-taking, and memory techniques. Upon successful completion of College Reading and Study Skills, the student should be prepared to apply reading and study strategies in college classes. Lab hours are required. * * Load hours do not carry academic credit toward a degree program and are not used in probation and dismissal decisions, but do count in computing a student's load for financial aid and student employment.
