Catalog description

Course integrates principles from biology, ecology, history, economics, and social science to examine environmental, economic, and social dimensions of sustainability. Students will apply practical tools such as Life Cycle Assessment, ecological and carbon footprint analysis, and biomimetic design, to regional case studies through lab, lectures, discussions, and field experiences with external partners in research, industry, and government. A semester-long project provides hands-on experience researching real-world sustainability challenges.
