Catalog description

Introduces intermediate metalsmithing techniques and design used for jewelry and small-scale, sculptural objects. This course covers intermediate fabrication and forming techniques including synclastic and anticlastic forming, forging, advanced soldering techniques, and lost-wax casting. This course involves generating and constructing both functional jewelry and sculpture, as well as emphasizing individual research, compositional development, and critical analysis. Prerequisite: ART 1604 with a grade of "C" or better. Course is not repeatable for credit.
