Catalog description

PRINCIPLES AND TECHNIQUES OF COUNSELING. This course is designed to introduce mental health counseling students to the clinical skills relevant to beginning practice in the field. Utilizing Stoltenberg's developmental model, students will understand foundational principles, clinical skills, and the client experience. Students will engage in a clinical lab experience and review various social justice oriented media to supplement the lectures. Registration is limited by program of study. Corequisite: CMC-612.
