Fundamentals of Nursing Assistant Theory

Catalog description

This course covers patients’ rights, interpersonal skills, prevention and management of catastrophe, and unusual occurrences. Students will also learn body mechanics, medical and surgical asepsis, weight and measurements, and patient care skills. There will also be a focus on patient care procedures, vital signs, nutrition, and emergency procedures. Students will study long-term care patients, and rehabilitative nursing, death and dying, and abuse. Students will perform and learn how to properly chart and perform patient observations.
