Legal and Ethical Issues for Health Care Professionals

Pre-Requisite(s): *MED101, MED102, MED103, MED104, MED105, MED106, MED107, MED108, MED202, MED207, MED209 *Not applicable to AS Social Work and BS Social Work From an administrative standpoint, an introduction to biological and health care ethics. Students learn to consider ethical and legal considerations when making administrative decisions. Students will learn about a variety of topics to better understand how healthcare professionals and consumers make tough healthcare decisions. The course will also cover the regulatory and business problems that must be addressed while representing healthcare professionals and organizations, including as rules that govern the internal structure of health care organizations and interactions between health care providers.
