Cantillation II

Catalog description

This course is part two of the three-course cantillation program. It is an in-depth study of Eastern European cantillation for Yamim Noraim and Eikah. In addition to learning the history, function, and art of cantillation, participants will work to demonstrate a proficiency in recognizing and chanting the various cantillation phrases for these three tropes. (The specific schedule will be clear on the course syllabus) This course is open to both rabbinical and cantorial students.
